Since joining M.S. Hall + Associates in 2019, Lisa Schreckenstein has become a trusted, multidisciplinary financial resource for hospitals navigating complex reimbursement, accounting, and regulatory challenges. Promoted to Associate Director in 2024, she blends deep technical expertise with a client-centered approach that strengthens financial health, operational clarity, and long-term organizational confidence.
Lisa’s work spans accounting, reimbursement, reporting, and financial analysis, where she is valued for her ability to answer difficult questions. She moves seamlessly between detailed technical work and big-picture problem solving, helping hospital leaders understand their Medicare reporting obligations, evaluate financial impacts, and make more informed decisions. Whether she’s refining workpapers, guiding teams through complex reimbursement concepts, or validating the accuracy of financial inputs, Lisa is known for bringing precision, clarity, and dependability to every engagement.
Before joining M.S. Hall + Associates, Lisa spent eight years as an accountant at a small community hospital, an experience that shaped her as a versatile and collaborative resource. In an environment where everyone wears multiple hats, she supported nearly every department across the organization. Her responsibilities ranged from reimbursement accounting to cost accounting system implementations, contract modeling, CDM work, patient accounting projects, and monthly contractual calculations. She developed reporting to identify billing and collection opportunities and served as a go-to problem solver during major transitions, including software conversions. Earlier in her career, she spent five years in public accounting, focusing primarily on tax services with additional audit experience.
Today, Lisa brings the full weight of that cross-functional background into her client work. She enjoys the blend of technical analysis and client interaction, finding energy in complex reimbursement problems and the opportunity to empower CFOs and reimbursement teams. Her approach is collaborative and growth-oriented — she works side-by-side with clients to help them strengthen their internal competencies, build confidence in their processes, and navigate Medicare reporting with clarity and assurance.
Lisa is meticulous and grounds all of her work in accuracy, integrity, and reliability. Her clients trust her analyses because they know they are both precise and deeply informed. She values the unique challenges and perspectives of each organization she supports and strives to provide guidance that is clear, consistent, and genuinely helpful.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Le Moyne College. Outside her professional role, she enjoys visiting family, traveling, and rescuing animals.
